Why did you enroll your child(ren) in Staten Island Community Charter School? (check all that apply) *
Because SICCS is a charter school, and from everything I've heard, chater schools seem to do a better job of educating kids. Because our local public school is overcrowded. I don't have confidence my child(ren) will get a good start there. Because the school was established in our community by parents, grandparents and educators from our community for the children of our community. Because SICCS is near my home. My children can walk there. Because they have team teaching there, so there are more teachers availabel to help the children learn. Parent involvement/volunteer opportunities

Did you know that charter schools get only 80% of the state funding that traditional public schools receive? That leaves a 20% gap that somebody has to make up, and that somebody is us.

That's why we ask every SICCS family to volunteer or serve on a committee or help in whatever way they can, according to the time they have available.
Following is a list of some of the jobs we need to tackle (in no particular order). Please check off the ones that interest you or that you think you might be good at. We'll try to find a task that suits your talents, interests and skills.
