Volunteer
Help any way you can, any time you can.
We’re a small school with a big agenda, so there’s always something you can get involved in––even if you have only an hour or two to spare:
Spread the word. Many parents and caregivers have too much to do and too little time to keep up with the latest happenings at SICCS. Whenever you can, let other parents know what’s going on.
Invite the community in. Whether or not they have family members enrolled at SICCS, we want people from the community to feel welcome here. Whenever you see an opportunity to introduce a friend or neighbor to our school, please invite them to visit. To make an appointment, please call Mr. Stephen at 347-857-6981.
Get to know other parents. Working on a school project you both believe in is a great way to meet other parents. Volunteer an hour a week. Join a committee. Get active on the Parent Team. When you do, you’ll meet parents and volunteers you’ll enjoy getting to know.
Take a trip. Accompanying a class on an outing is a big help to our teachers. But it’s also a chance to witness children’s excitement as they absorb new experiences and process new information for the very first time.
Help out at peak periods. Children learn best in a calm, orderly environment where they feel secure and supported. Your presence during morning arrival, at lunchtime or at afternoon dismissal can help these peak transition periods run more smoothly.
