Race Issues In Mark Twain – A Creative Dialogue

Submitted by on January 25, 2012 – 1:00 pmNo Comment

ON Sunday, January 29th, Staten Island OutLOUD will bring a community dialogue on language and dialect in Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn as part of The Big Read to SICCS.  Join us as we read from Twain’s books and  engage in a dialogue about how contemporary readers might approach the language and content in these important,  and often controversial, works.

The event will start at 3:00 p.m at SICCS.  Parents and students are welcome to attend and engage in what promises to be a creative and exciting dialogue.

You can read more about The Big Read and Staten Island OutLOUD’s endowment on the Staten Island Advance website here.
